2.8.3: Manage Freight Equipment

This page shows the collection of processes needed to monitor and manage the freight equipment (container, chassis, trailer, cargo) whether it is being carried by a Commercial Vehicle or working independently. These processes monitor the presence of freight equipment and can collect status information about the container, chassis, trailer, or the actual cargo being shipped. This process manages the interface with the intermodal terminal to request entry and exit from the facility by providing the identity of the driver, truck, and cargo. There is a driver interface to manage the assignments and routing for pickups and deliveries.
