10.5.3.6: Provide Field Device Operator Interface

This process shall provide the interface through which field system operators can obtain access to system support data. This process shall provide the interface through which the operator can input and update the parameters used by the Support Field Services function. The process shall provide an interface through which the operator can review and request update of software and configuration services. The operator shall be able to use the process to request software updates from the centers and set appropriate parameters for the function of the field device operating systems. The process shall provide an interface through which the field operator can review and request status of the services running on the device. The process shall support inputs from the operator in manual or audio form, and shall provide its outputs in audible or visual forms. It shall enable the visual output to be in hardcopy, and/or display.
