6.4: Manage Ridesharing and Shared Use Transportation

This page shows the collection of processes that make up the Manage Ridesharing and Shared Use Transportation facility within the Provide Driver and Traveler Services function. These processes enable travelers whose destinations and time of travel match to share rides for some or their entire trip. It also provides information about shared use transportation.

The key points about the facility are as follows:
- Travelers are matched to share transport (private car or van) for as much of their trip as possible;
- Travelers must specify the time of day, source and destination of their trip;
- Travelers may also specify any preferences or constraints on the rideshare arrangement;
- Once a rideshare is confirmed, the traveler may make a payment to the service (if required).
