Description

A set of alternative standards that can be used to wirelessly broadcast information from device-to-device in a range of a few hundred meters without requiring the aid of any 3rd entity base station. This includes technologies such as WAVE, C-V2X, and the device-to-device mode of 3GPP 4G and 5G. NOTE: WAVE and C-V2X are both intended for the same 5.9 GHz spectrum, which is currently assigned to WAVE within the US; however, as of late 2019, the FCC is considering a proposal to reassign portions of this spectrum.
