TMC Road Weather Micro-Prediction
Overview
'TMC Road Weather Micro-Prediction' uses road weather data and advanced algorithms to create micro-predictions of roadway conditions, or receives micro-predictions from external sources, which can support improved traffic management.

Requirements

01 | The center shall assimilate current and forecast road conditions and surface weather information using a combination of weather service provider information (such as the National Weather Service and value-added sector specific meteorological services), and environmental data collected from sensors deployed on and about the roadway. |
02 | The center shall receive road condition information from weather service providers. |
03 | The center shall provide value-added sector specific meteorological services with information on basic road facility and treatment information that supports forecasts for road conditions. |
04 | The center shall use the various data inputs of environmental sensors and road weather data to develop a view of current and micro-predicted road weather and road conditions. |
