6.10: Manage Traveler Profiles

This process shall manage the profiles of users of the Provide Driver and Traveler Services function. This process shall collect traveler profile information from personal devices or in-vehicle units. This process shall provide traveler profile information to other processes within Provide Driver and Traveler Services to support applications such as trip planning, traveler information dissemination, traveler information alerts, emergency information dissemination, route guidance/selection, and traveler services. The traveler profile shall include the type and capabilities of the equipment that the traveler normally uses, their contact information, and personal preferences. Traveler profiles may be used by the applications to generate future personalized trip information.
